WHO I AM: I am one of three Conservative Members of the European Parliament for London. I was first elected in June 2009 and work closely with my two constituency colleagues - Charles Tannock and Syed Kamall. As members of the Conservative delegation we sit in the European Parliament as part of the group of European Conservatives and Reformists.

WHAT I DO: I represent London's interests in the European Parliament – not the other way around. I lobby for common sense and for change and take up specific issues for individual Londoners or special interest groups. I work for ALL Londoners, regardless of their political allegiance.

HOW I DO IT: I spend three days a week in Brussels (one week a month in Strasbourg) attending parliamentary meetings, where I take the opportunity to put issues on the agenda that have been raised with me by Londoners. I sit on the European Parliament’s Committee on Women's Rights and Gender Equality and the Committee on the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety and I regularly make the case for London and its citizens. I also work for two days a week at my London office - answering correspondence from concerned constituents, visiting commercial organisations, community groups and schools and meeting those who wish to raise issues with me.
