The EU's Lisbon Treaty has been rejected by a resounding majority of voters in Ireland's referendum.
Marina Yannakoudakis said: "Now it's time for Gordon Brown to come clean and give the British people our democratic rights and our own referendum on the treaty.
"Ireland is the only country of the 27 EU states to have held a referendum. Last year the French and Dutch threw out the EU constitution only to have it rehashed as a treaty.
"Brown has gone back on his word and will not hold a referendum. The truth is he is scared to as he knows the British people have had enough of their democratic government being eroded and sent to Brussels. We want, no demand, we are given the same right as the Irish and have a referendum."

'Marina's 'can do' approach gets results. She has worked incredibly hard for the Conservative Party on a range of campaigning and fundraising activities. If Marina says she will get something done, you can rely on her to make it happen. She would be an excellent MEP for London.'

Marina writes:
As a Conservative, I stand for freedom. The freedom to allow people to
grow and be part of a community, taking responsibility for their
actions. I take responsibility for my actions, and through this I am
able to contribute towards the society of which I am a part. I do not
expect or want to be governed by unelected bureaucrats and who are not accountable directly to my
parliament and the British people.
London is unique in its diversity and culture. London is the world's financial capital and as such we Londoners can stand tall in the EU. We have a role to play in Europe and much to offer. Our fellow Europeans must understand that Britain is a sovereign and independent nation and our EU representatives will always put British interests first.
