'I am a hard-working Conservative campaigner and a London Borough councillor. As a Conservative MEP I will be dedicated to serving all the people of London and representing our interests in Europe, not the other way round!'
- I am a Barnet councillor for Oakleigh ward and was elected in 2006 with an increased majority.
- I successfully proposed a motion in council to call for a referendum on the EU Reform Treaty.
- I have campaigned in council, Euro and Parliamentary elections across the capital, in Bromley, Southall, Finchley, Harrow and Camden in addition to continuous local campaigning in Barnet.
- I am an energetic party activist and Chairman of the fund raising committee for Chipping Barnet Conservative Association.
- I campaigned for Boris Johnson's successful election as the first Conservative Mayor of London.
- I have fought hard for local residents in my Borough, leading several campaigns including successfully stopping the building of a new phone mast.
- I led the expansion of the recycling programme in Barnet to include cardboard and plastic waste. I have a successful track record of dealing with the effects of EU directives in environmental matters.
'Some people complain that politicians don't listen, but I spend a lot
of time meeting Londoners on the doorstep and in the High Street, finding out about the issues that really concern them.'
