Marina Yannakoudakis MEP visited the construction site of the new Whitechapel Station which will be part of the Crossrail transport project which will traverse London from East to West.

When completed in 2018 24 trains per hour will pass through the station taking commuters to and from, Shenfield, Abbey Wood, Maidenhead and Heathrow Airport.

Marina visited the Whitechapel site thanks to BBMV, a consortium of four of the world’s leading construction companies, including London-based firms Balfour Beatty and Morgan Sindell.

Marina said; “It was a privilege to be able to visit the Crossrail site. The project will provide a high frequency train service which will ease congestion for London’s commuters. I look forward to returning to the Whitechapel Crossrail station in 2018 when 200 million of my constituents will be able to enjoy faster and easier journeys across the capital.”
