3rd

Marina is ranked third on the

The Conservatives currently have three MEPs, so she has
an excellent chance of being elected to replace John Bowis MEP, who
will be retiring.
Marina says: "Thank you to my supporters for your
help so far.”

for the 2009 elections is:

….And
for Brian in Barnet and Camden
Since her selection as a prospective
MEP candidate, Marina Yannakoudakis has been campaigning hard for
Boris Johnson to become Mayor of London.
She has been canvassing and organising deliveries for
Boris and for Conservative Assembly candidate Brian Coleman in Oakleigh
ward, Chipping Barnet, and Hale ward, Hendon. Both are part of the
Barnet and Camden GLA constituency.
Marina joined Boris, Conservative Leader David Cameron
and MEPs Charles Tannock and Syed Kamall at Boris’s campaign
launch at Bounces Road Community Centre in
Edmonton.

and Syed Kamall in Edmonton |
Marina
said: “Boris is truly inspirational, we are behind him 100 per
cent. We will have to work hard to make sure Ken Livingstone is not
elected – as he is not to be underestimated. Boris has the policies
and the vision to fix London.” |

POST
OFFICE CLOSURE PLANS CONDEMNED |
Shadow Home Secretary David Davis answered a question from Marina
Yannakoudakis at the Conservative Spring Forum in Gateshead on March
14.
She asked him how he saw the role of councils in future
community policing.
Marina, who was pleased with Mr Davis’s answer,
said: “It is clear that when the Conservatives come to power
policing will be a high priority.”
Marina also met party deputy chairman Lord Ashcroft
and Shadow Foreign Secretary William Hague. |
MEETING: Marina
with William Hague |
Marina
Yannakoudakis chaired a meeting of Barnet Council’s Greener,
Cleaner, Transport and Development Scrutiny Committee which condemned
post office closures under Labour.
Marina said: “There is little logic behind the decision
– one targeted post office was not even losing money. Labour’s
plans do not take into account local factors like bus routes or which
shops people normally use.” |

Boris
is a real classic |
| Marina Yannakoudakis
was impressed by Boris Johnson’s Ancient Greek at a meeting
of Conservative Friends of Cyprus. London mayoral candidate Boris
recited the first two paragraphs of Homer’s Illiad from memory
. The audience in Finchley included Brian Coleman - the GLA candidate
for Barnet and Camden - Councilor Andreas Tambourides the former Mayor
of Barnet, Cllr John Marshall, Mayor designate of Barnet and Theresa
Villiers MP. |
