The resolution drafted by Marina Yannakoudakis (ECR, UK) calls on the European Commission to start by launching a campaign promoting women’s participation in the labour market by the creation of their own business. It also calls on the Commission and member states to establish a programme in order to help housewives, carers or those who provide other services without being either employed or self-employed to start up either in self-employment or to set up their own business. The resolution supports the establishment of measures to facilitate business entrepreneurship by immigrant women and Roma women - against the opinion of the political group Europe of Freedom and Democracy (EFD).
