Marina meets European Sikhs
Marina met with Sikhs from across Europe who came to the European Parliament to discuss human rights abuses against Sikhs and those Sikhs facing the death penalty in India.
Marina has expressed her position to the death penalty imposed on Balwant Singh Rajoana and has written to EU Foreign Policy High Representative Baroness Ashton a number of times on this issue. She has also taken up the case of Professor Davinderpal Singh Bhullar, a Sikh political activist.
The London boroughs of Hounslow & Ealing in Marina’s constituency have some of the highest number of Sikhs in England. Marina co-operates with the Sikh community in London and across Europe and the conference was a good opportunity to take stock of issues affecting Sikhs in Europe and beyond.
